Our Mission:

The Georgia Street Rod Association (GSRA) is a statewide association of automobile enthusiasts, businesses and organizations dedicated to education, safety, and awareness.

Our Vision:

A fun and educational member experience.

We accomplish this:

  • Through events that bring together automotive and transportation industry businesses and hobbyists.
  • By working with students and automotive instructors to further automotive/transportation education and careers.
  • By supporting automotive technology scholarship opportunities within the technical school system in Georgia.
  • By monitoring and educating on legislative and insurance topics that could affect the automobile and transportation hobby.
  • By working with other organization’s events, car shows and cruise-ins which bring awareness of the hobby and its history to the general public.
  • By supporting safety issues laid out by national organizations, such as NSRA and SEMA.
  • By communicating activities through GSRA web site, social media and StreetTalk that engages automotive hobbyists, students, the business community and the general public.

GSRA welcomes the business community and owners of customs, muscle cars, sports cars, classics, specialty rides, trucks, street rods, rat rods, imports and all people who love cars, whether or not they own a vehicle.

Working together we can preserve and strengthen the automotive hobby for ourselves and future generations.

GSRA History

The GSRA is one of the oldest automotive and transportation associations in the USA. It was formed in 1976 by members of a number of car clubs to address legislative, insurance and safety issues facing the automotive hobby.   Today, GSRA is the largest  automotive association of its type in the State of Georgia.

The Georgia Street Rod Association promotes the car hobby in general and is open to everyone.  All you need is an interest in automobiles or transportation in general.  You don’t have to own a car!  Family members are welcome at all our events and many of them volunteer their time to help.

We define the term “Street Rod” as a vehicle you love.  Our members have all sorts of vehicles – stock, muscle cars, hot rods, trucks, motorcycles, custom cars, hybrids and electric cars, to name a few. All years, makes and models are welcome.  We have monthly meetings and events to show off your vehicle or just be with people with “like” minds.  Everyone has an opportunity to talk with new and old members and get involved as much as you would like.

Our mission is to be a statewide association of automobile enthusiasts and organizations dedicated to education, safety and awareness. We do this through our committees and educational scholarship program. Our vision is to offer a fun and educational member experience.  We accomplish all this with the help of our members and the donations we gather throughout the year.

We welcome you to become a member and add your voice and hands to an association that benefits the State of Georgia and the people that make up the automotive and transportation hobby industry.  We thank existing members for their dedication and service and look forward to serving everyone that is interested!

GSRA IMPACT ON STATE OF GEORGIA

The Georgia Street Rod Association was formed in 1976 to promote safety and awareness to the automotive hobby in the State of Georgia.   We hold yearly safety clinics and inspections throughout Georgia on hundreds of vehicles to help make the road a safer place.

Georgia Street Rod Association benefits the education of students going into the Technical School System of Georgia by its scholarship program.  Established in 2007 with a donation of $6,000 for students enrolled in the High Performance Automotive/Motorsports program at South Georgia Technical College. The purpose of the fund is to assist students pursuing automotive technology careers. More funds were received in 2008. The principal amount invested was $10,000 over the first two years. Through funding by donations and the Georgia Street Rod Association, more youth have been able to attend college than ever before.  We continue to accept donations directly from individuals and organizations.
